How we diagnose

Las Vegas HVAC repair — Real diagnosis, not just parts swapping

The tell-tale sign of a bad HVAC service call is a technician who arrives, listens for 30 seconds, and starts replacing parts one at a time hoping one of them fixes the issue. That approach runs your bill up and often misses the underlying cause. A short in a control board can look like a bad blower motor; a plugged flame sensor can look like a bad ignition module.

Every service call starts with a combustion analysis (for gas equipment) or a refrigerant charge and pressure check (for AC/heat pump), plus an electrical draw check on the affected component. Those three tests point to the actual failed part 80% of the time. The remaining 20% needs deeper diagnostic time — which we quote before running.

If we can't source a discontinued part, we tell you before charging for further diagnostic time and give you the honest 'repair vs replace' conversation with numbers on both paths. Related in Las Vegas: heat pump repair and AC installation.

What we do

How your Las Vegas HVAC install or service call works — four steps, no surprises

  1. Live response

Call goes to a live technician, day or night. Diagnostic fee and arrival window disclosed on the phone before the truck rolls.

  2. On-site diagnostic

Combustion analysis, refrigerant check, electrical draw test — the three tests that identify 80% of failures before we start pulling parts.

  3. Written quote

Line-item quote covers the failed part, labour to replace, and parts warranty. Diagnostic fee is credited against the repair invoice if you proceed.

  4. Fix and verify

Parts installed, system commissioned, combustion re-analyzed (for gas). Post-repair walkthrough confirms the fix and shows what caused the failure.

Repair FAQs

Straight answers on repair

Standard business-hours diagnostic: $99-$149 depending on the equipment (furnace and AC are $99; boiler and heat pump are $149). After-hours emergency diagnostic: $199. If you proceed with the repair, the diagnostic fee is credited against the invoice.
Rule of thumb: if the repair is more than 50% of a new furnace and the current unit is over 12 years old, replacement usually makes more sense (efficiency gain + reset warranty clock + rebate eligibility). Under 8 years, always repair unless the heat exchanger is cracked. The 8-12 year zone is a judgment call — we lay out both paths honestly.
Yes — capacitors, contactors, ignitors, flame sensors, gas valves, blower motors, common thermocouples, and refrigerant. 80% of repair calls in Las Vegas finish same-day. Compressor and heat exchanger swaps need same-day or next-day parts orders.
1 year on any part we install. If the same part fails within 12 months due to install or defect, we replace it at no charge. Failure due to secondary cause (voltage spike, contamination, filter neglect) is diagnosed and quoted separately — we tell you the root cause.
Yes — Rheem, Lennox, Carrier, Bryant, Trane, Goodman, Amana, Napoleon, Keeprite, York, American Standard, Payne, Kelvinator, Coleman, Ducane. Parts availability varies by brand and age; we tell you upfront if a discontinued part will delay the repair.
