Las Vegas boiler installation — combi + hydronic + radiant floor systems

Wall-hung combi boilers and condensing boilers for older Las Vegas homes with hydronic and radiant floor heating. Navien, Viessmann, Weil-McLain, IBC and NTI installations with licensed gas fitter gas certification.

  • Wall-hung condensing boilers
  • AFUE 95% + high-mass options
  • Space-saving retrofit for older Las Vegas basements

Combi vs conventional

One boiler handles space heat and domestic hot water

A modern wall-hung combi boiler produces both space heat (baseboards or radiant floor) and domestic hot water on demand. That replaces both the old cast-iron boiler AND the water heater tank with a single wall-mounted unit that saves 3-4 square feet of basement floor space and runs at 95%+ AFUE efficiency.

For older Las Vegas homes with cast-iron radiators, a properly-sized modulating condensing boiler pairs perfectly. The modulation range (5:1 or 10:1 typical) lets the boiler match the actual heat demand in shoulder seasons instead of cycling on and off.

For homes with radiant floor heating (in-slab or between joists), we run a heat loss calculation to confirm the boiler sizing works with the system's water temperature and flow rate. A wrong-sized boiler on radiant floor is a bigger comfort problem than on baseboards. Related in Las Vegas: AC installation and AC repair.

Install day

Two-day install for most boiler swaps

  1. Heat loss + hydronic assessment

Room-by-room heat loss for radiator sizing, DHW demand calculation, gas line size verification, vent path analysis. Written quote covers all four.

  2. Written quote

Line-item quote covers boiler, indirect DHW tank if applicable, near-boiler piping, condensate handling, permit fees, and old-boiler disposal.

  3. Day 1 — Remove + rough-in

Old boiler drained, disconnected, removed. New boiler mounted, gas line connected, near-boiler piping (supply, return, expansion tank, air separator) installed.

  4. Day 2 — Commissioning

Combustion analysis, water quality treatment, thermostat wiring, final safety inspection. Post-install walkthrough shows controls and warranty documentation.

When to replace

20+ year old boilers usually make sense to replace

Cast-iron boilers commonly run 30+ years. That doesn't mean they should. A 30-year-old cast-iron boiler runs at 65-72% AFUE. A modern condensing boiler runs at 95%+. On a typical Las Vegas gas bill, that efficiency gap is $600-$1,100 per year — meaningful payback on a boiler replacement.

Under 15 years old and running well: repair, don't replace. Efficiency gain doesn't justify the capital cost.

15-20 years old: judgment call based on repair cost and running efficiency. We measure both and give you honest numbers.

20+ years old: replacement almost always pays back. Even without any comfort or reliability issue, the fuel savings alone justify it within 6-9 years. Add rebate eligibility on high-efficiency condensing units and the math gets even better. Related in Las Vegas: AC installation, AC repair, and boiler installation.

Boiler installation FAQs

Las Vegas HVAC installation boiler installation questions answered

Wall-hung combi boiler swap-out with existing radiator system: $6,500-$9,500. High-mass condensing boiler with indirect DHW tank: $9,000-$14,000. Radiant floor system additions: $2,500-$5,000 on top depending on square footage. gas permit and inspection included.
For 1-3 bathroom homes with typical hot water use: yes, easily. Combi flow rates are 8-11 GPM at 40°F rise. For 4+ bathrooms or high simultaneous demand (multiple showers + dishwasher + laundry), we recommend a condensing boiler paired with an indirect DHW tank — same efficiency, higher recovery.
Usually no — cast-iron radiators pair well with modern condensing boilers as long as the system's return water temperature can stay under 130°F for the boiler to run in condensing mode. A room-by-room heat loss calc confirms whether the existing radiators are the right size for the calculated load.
Standard combi boiler swap-out: 2 days (Day 1 remove + rough-in, Day 2 commission and inspect). Full hydronic system with radiators and radiant floor: 5-10 days depending on scope. New construction hydronic: 3-4 weeks.
Yes — high-efficiency condensing boilers (95%+ AFUE) qualify for regional utility rebates when combined with envelope upgrades. federal energy rebate (0% interest, 10-year term) covers up to $40,000 for the boiler + related retrofits. We handle all the paperwork.

Replaced our 30-year cast-iron boiler with a Navien combi. Freed up half the mechanical room and cut the gas bill by about 35% the first winter. Two-day install, clean work.

New addition needed both a boiler upgrade and radiant floor in the extension. They ran the heat loss calc room by room, sized the boiler correctly, and the radiant balances perfectly with the existing radiators.

Family of 6, 4 bathrooms. Regular combi wouldn't have kept up. Their recommendation of a condensing boiler + indirect DHW tank was the right call. Hot water is instant everywhere.

Older Las Vegas home with cast-iron rads. They confirmed the rads work with a condensing boiler if we set the water temp curve correctly. New boiler runs in condensing mode 80%+ of the season.
