Las Vegas residents should know that heating and air conditioning industry trade groups signed an agreement with “Green” groups saying that they will promote energy efficiency to produce furnaces and air conditioners that could save billions of utility dollars for consumers, supposedly reduce the need to build future power plants, all in the name of helping the environment over the next 25 years.

If the DOE were to adopt these standards, you would only save about $100 a year in utility cost for operating your furnace and air conditioner.Judging the history of deals like this you will have to spend three to five dollars to save one buck. So watch out consumers, heating and air conditioning equipment will get more expensive because of the government helping you. Consider this a hidden tax increase.
